While this patio heater looks more novel and streamlined than the regular "top down" heaters, it basically doesn't work. About 90% of the heat goes straight up, so hot you could cook a meal over it. The rest radiates out about 2 feet at best. The result: if the heater is in the middle of a region, sitting around it is comfortable. But usually people sit around a table, so putting this heater to the side or leisurely you has cramped application. The literature states a 10 foot position. It is more like 2-3 feet.
